Privacy Policy

This is a register and privacy statement for Kateplan Oy's customer and marketing register in accordance with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

4. Purpose and legal basis for processing personal data
The legal grounds for processing are:

  • Contract: The processing of personal data is necessary to make offers, execute contract agreements and manage project communications.

  • Legal obligation: Measures required by the Accounting Act and construction industry reporting to authorities (e.g. tax number declarations).

  • Legitimate interest: Managing customer relationships, providing information about services and direct marketing to company representatives based on their job duties.

  • Consent: Website cookie-based marketing targeting and newsletter subscription.

5. Data content of the register
The following information can be stored in the register:

  • First and last name and contact information (phone number, email, address).

  • Site information (address and technical information of the property to be renovated).

  • Name of the company or housing association and position of the representative.

  • Order history, billing information, and documentation related to warranty terms.

6. Regular sources of information
Data is primarily collected directly from the data subject via contact forms on the Kateplan.fi website, by email, by telephone or in customer meetings. Data can also be updated from public sources, such as the Trade Register or the YTJ system.

7. Regular transfers and transfers of data outside the EU
Data may be disclosed to authorities to fulfill statutory reporting obligations (e.g. Tax Administration). The website is built on the Wix platform, with Wix.com Ltd acting as the data processor. Data may be stored on Wix servers outside the EU, such as in Israel or the United States. Transfers are based on the adequacy decisions of the EU Commission (Israel) or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (USA).

8. Cookies
The Wix platform sets technically necessary cookies (such as XSRF-TOKEN, hs, svSession) on the site, which ensure the security and functionality of the site. We use analytics cookies only with the visitor's consent.

9. Principles of register protection and retention period
Personal data is kept confidential. Access to the data is limited to employees who need it for their duties. Electronic systems are protected by user names and passwords. Data is generally kept for ten (10) years from the acceptance of the contract due to the ten-year liability of the developer and the warranty liability of the contractor. Accounting records are kept for at least six years.

10. Rights of the data subject
The data subject has the right to:

  • Check the information about him/her and request its correction.

  • Request the deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"), unless there is a legal basis for the processing.

  • Prohibits direct marketing.

  • File a complaint with the supervisory authority (Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman) if he or she considers that the processing of personal data has violated the Regulation.
